Short Course: Understanding VEMCO Acoustic Telemetry Technology

The popularity of the VR2W automated acoustic receiver technology designed and produced by VEMCO has significantly increased over the last several years. Denise King will discuss several detailed technical issues related to acoustic telemetry technology and provide the user with the necessary tools to use the equipment effectively. Participants will learn how acoustic technology works, how VEMCO equipment works, and how to analyze data (false detections, etc). Register soon as space is limited! Information/Registration. Short Course Prior to IAGLR 2010: Introduction to R

Quantitative Fisheries Center, Michigan State University. Cost: Student $50, Professional $100. This course will introduce students to the R programming and statistical software package using examples from fisheries research. No prior experience with R or programming is required or expected. IAGLR Hockey 2010 – Sponsored by EcoAnalysts, Inc

The IAGLR Hockey “Lessons from the Past – Solutions for the Future” 2010 Defy Cup Challenge between Team IAGLR Canada hosting IAGLR Team USA will take place at De La Salle College Arena, 141 Farnham Avenue, Toronto, ONT M4V 1H7 on Monday, May 17, 2010 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. Cost per player will be approximately $30. If you are interested in playing, send an email note to Michael Twiss (mtwiss@clarkson.edu) stating your nationality and preferred playing position. We create the teams with the intention of maximizing the skill equality. A nominal fee is assessed for each player and coaching staff to go towards the cash prize for the winning team, who then have the honor/honour of donating it to the IAGLR Scholarship fund.
