Internet Publishing Policy
Approved by IAGLR Board of Directors: September 1999

It is the policy of IAGLR to grant permission for authors of articles that have been published in the Journal of Great Lakes Research to put those articles on open web sites if

• request by the author is submitted to the journal editor;
• the article in question was published in a volume of the Journal of Great Lakes Research at least six (6) months prior to the time the request is made;
• the web-published article appears exactly in appearance and content as it appeared in the journal (this requirement is intended to maintain the integrity of published material and its results and conclusions and to protect against embellishment of an article subsequent to its publication in the Journal of Great Lakes Research); and
• the web-based publication duly cites the Journal of Great Lakes Research as the original publisher of the paper.

Further, we will allow, without specific permission, web-based publication of the abstract of an article as soon as it appears in the Journal of Great Lakes Research, since IAGLR already publishes all abstracts of its current and recently published volumes on its own web site. Again, we would request appropriate recognition be given to the journal and links be established to our web site (http://www.iaglr.org ) should readers desire to access all abstracts in a given issue or to subscribe to the journal by joining the association.
