Research
IAGLR does not sponsor research projects, but rather provides a forum for scientists studying large lakes of the world and their watersheds from a broad range of disciplines to communicate their research findings and interests to one another, primarily through our annual conference and our Journal of Great Lakes Research.
Conference on Great Lakes Research
Each year, IAGLR holds its Conference on Great Lakes Research, attended by hundreds of scientists and other professionals from a wide variety of disciplines. The program includes technical sessions with both oral and poster presentations, plenary sessions with internationally recognized keynote speakers, and workshops on a variety of topics.
Journal of Great Lakes Research
Every three months, IAGLR publishes through the Journal of Great Lakes Research, an eclectic mix of papers from various scientific, management, and policy perspectives all focused on a single topic: large lakes of the world. A searchable archive of the journal is now available online through support from the Joyce Foundation.
Great Lakes Science Policy Initiative
Through this initiative, IAGLR and its partners work to strengthen the connection between scientists and policymakers.
