Microplastics, Invasive Species, and More Lake Science: UVM to host 58th Annual Conference on Great Lakes Research

Where: University of Vermont, Burlington, VT. (Most activities, including registration, will be in the Davis Center. Plenaries at Ira Allen Chapel.)

What: More than 700 scientists, policy experts, conservationists, students, and others will gather for the 58th annual Conference on Great Lakes Research, convened by the International Association for Great Lakes Research.

  • Presentations on the emerging threat from microplastic pollution in lake waters.
  • The latest reports on the spread of zebra mussels and other invasives.
  • Discussion of climate change and its impacts, including algae blooms.
