IAGLR19 Call for Abstracts: deadline extended for federal employees

January 21, 2019

IAGLR has fielded many inquiries about the U.S. federal shutdown and its impact on the IAGLR19 Call for Abstracts. We sympathize with our U.S. federal colleagues and have developed the following plan to address these concerns.

For anyone who is not a furloughed U.S. federal employee, the IAGLR19 abstract deadline remains Feb. 1, 2019. Please submit your abstract at iaglr.org/iaglr2019/abstracts. Honoring this deadline will allow us to schedule the majority of the program and stay on schedule to open conference registration in March.

For U.S. federal employees ONLY, we will extend the abstract deadline to Feb. 11. If the federal shutdown continues into February, we will do our best to make other accommodations for our federal colleagues. This may mean reserving limited spots in the program for federal presenters, in consultation with session chairs.

If you are a non-federal co-author, we encourage you to submit a draft abstract on behalf of your federal colleagues. Further edits can be made online at a later date, including changing the lead author/presenter. If necessary, abstract submission fees may be waived for submissions by/for federal employees.

View the Call for Abstracts for details on how to submit.

Questions may be addressed to Joe Makarewicz, IAGLR19 program chair, [email protected], 585-352-9724; or Christine Manninen, IAGLR conference coordinator, [email protected], 734-475-6917.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work through these challenging times.

Sincerely,

The IAGLR19 Planning Team
