Volunteer Opportunities with IAGLR

IAGLR members are encouraged to participate in the operations of the association. Members may wish to serve on the Board of Directors or on one or more of IAGLR's committees. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities, please check out the following links for more information.

Board of Directors

The IAGLR Board of Directors is composed of scientists from Canada and the United States of America, with each country being equally represented. The positions of president and vice president alternate annually between Canadian and U.S. members.

Both regular and student members of IAGLR are elected to the board. Regular members serve three year terms, while student members serve for two years. An annual call for nominations is sent to those subscribed to IAGLR E-mail Notes and is also posted in the IAGLR News. We encourage members interested in running or nominating others for the board to respond to the call for nominations.

Committees

Several committees help run various operations of IAGLR. Committee chairs are appointed by the IAGLR president and are responsible for forming and managing their respective committees. We encourage all members interested in serving on a committee to contact the appropriate committee chair.

Journal of Great Lakes Research

Our journal is a top-quality, peer-reviewed, scientific journal published since 1975.  Please contact the JGLR editor if you are interested in serving as an associate editor.
