IAGLR welcomes new communication coordinator

Join us in welcoming Nicole Wood as our new communication coordinator. Wood spent her undergrad and grad school years at Central Michigan University, where she led teams of students on the Great Lakes Coastal Wetland Monitoring Program. While in school, she developed her science communication skills, which resulted in multiple #scicomm adventures. These include Scicomm Monday, where she interviewed scientists from around the world. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Wood felt called to use her scicomm skills to help improve public health communications—a task that is still ongoing through her work at the Michigan Public Health Institute. Wood is excited to be back championing #GreatLakesSci in a more formalized role and can’t wait to catch up with familiar faces at #IAGLR24.
